War 2 (2025) Movie ft. Kiara, Hrithik, and N.T.

Hrithik Roshan returns as the rogue agent Kabir in War 2, this time facing off against Jr NTR’s Vikram. Director Ayan Mukerji takes over from Siddharth Anand to helm this big-budget sequel. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.

Shot across multiple international locations with a hefty Rs 400 crore budget, this Independence Day release promises high-octane action. Pritam handles the music while the Balhara brothers compose the background score.

War 2

The Story

Kabir has turned into India’s most wanted criminal, working for Kali – a dangerous global group targeting world leaders. The government sends Special Agent Vikram to hunt him down. What follows is a deadly game between two skilled operatives.

Kiara Advani plays Kavya, a decorated officer and Kabir’s former lover who now wants him dead. The plot uses flashbacks to show how these characters are connected. While the basic setup works, the story feels too familiar and predictable.

War 2

Star Power Works

Hrithik Roshan brings his usual charm and intensity to Kabir. His screen presence remains magnetic, and he handles the action scenes with ease. I found myself drawn to his performance despite the weak script around him.

Jr NTR makes a solid Bollywood debut as Vikram. He matches Hrithik’s energy in their face-offs and delivers some powerful moments. The two stars work well together, creating the film’s most engaging sequences.

Kiara Advani looks great but doesn’t get much to do beyond the romance angle. Her character needed more depth to match the male leads. The supporting cast feels wasted with underwritten roles.

War 2

Action Hits and Misses

The film shines in its action choreography. The opening sword fight sequence grabs attention immediately. A thrilling airplane chase later keeps the momentum going. Most fight scenes are clearly shot and well-executed.

However, some sequences go overboard with unrealistic stunts. The characters often perform superhuman feats that break believability. The VFX quality varies, with certain scenes looking unconvincing.

The cinematography captures the scale and grandeur effectively. International locations are used well to create visual appeal. But the editing feels choppy in places, affecting the overall flow.

What Doesn’t Click

The biggest problem is the weak writing. Despite having two powerhouse performers, the emotional scenes lack punch. The second half particularly drags with predictable twists and lengthy runtime.

Songs don’t leave any impact and feel forced into the narrative. The romance track between Hrithik and Kiara comes across as artificial. Too many characters get introduced without proper development.

The film tries to pack too much into its 170-minute runtime. Tighter editing could have improved the pacing significantly. Some dialogue feels overly dramatic and unnatural.

Bottom Line

War 2 works as a showcase for its lead actors and delivers decent action thrills. Hrithik and Jr NTR’s combination provides entertainment value for fans. The technical aspects mostly impress with good production values.

But the film suffers from a routine script that wastes its potential. It feels like a missed opportunity to create something truly special with such talented stars. The movie works as a one-time watch for action lovers but lacks the depth for repeated viewing.

Those expecting the magic of the original War might feel disappointed. While it has moments of brilliance, War 2 doesn’t quite live up to the hype surrounding it.
